During his career, spent mainly in third category of Spanish football, Keko played for twelve different clubs, mostly in his native region.
From 2002, he played five consecutive seasons in level two, starting with Terrassa FC, then scoring an average of 13 league goals for CD Tenerife - although the club never promoted - and spending a further two years with Andalusia's Polideportivo Ejido; in January 2007, 33-year old Keko returned to the third division, signing with UE Lleida.
